How My Closet Turned into A Trip to the Mall! SOL day 2

For the month of March, I'll be writing with all you in the Slice of Life community.  Please know I'll be writing every day so the writing will be raw and a bit messy most days.

Last weekend I told my husband I was going upstairs to take a shower.  Two hours later, not having heard from me, my husband came upstairs to check on me and was shocked to see our king sized bed heaping with clothes!

Somewhere along the way to the shower, I decided to gut my closet.  I hadn't cleaned out my closet in over a year, and it was really getting unbearable! Each morning I dug through the same piles looking for my favorite jeans, leggings, skirt or shirt.  Each time I had to settle for whatever I could find.

Finally, I had had enough!

It began slowly. Pulling out the long pants separating them from ankle and capri lengths and throwing out the pants I never wear.  Next, I was on to the tops.  Going through the jackets, sweaters, shirts, and dresses I slowly realized I have so many clothes I forgot!

All week long a trip to my closet has been like a trip to the mall or a new box from Stitch Fix! I actually found myself wishing winter could hang on a just a few more weeks. I have new rediscovered clothes to wear!

  1. Deb, if you lived by me, you would be able to wear your trendy winter clothes a little longer. I am always looking to clean out my closet because I too forget what I have. Stay warm today if you get what we have here on Long Island.

  4. This is the best feeling! I'm jealous that you did this with your closet because my closet hasn't had a clean out since I moved into my house in 2015! You've inspired me!

  6. I love your positivity! When I go through my closet like this it's usually because I feel like I wear everything over and over or that I have nothing to wear!

  7. That's a double win: a clean closet AND a few "new" outfits.
